When AI reads a blurry number, I want the uncertainty preserved
When AI processes blurry numbers, like 18.60 or 13.60 on a receipt, silently choosing one can lead to hidden accounting errors. A better approach for expense tracking would be to preserve the image crop, flag uncertain digits, and prompt for confirmation. Even marking an "amount unreadable" is preferable to confidently inserting incorrect data, suggesting a need for review queues or immediate confirmation steps for uncertain fields.

Suppose a receipt photo contains a number that could be 18.60 or 13.60.
If an AI silently chooses one and inserts it into a spreadsheet, the uncertainty disappears from the interface while remaining in the data.
For expense tracking, that’s a bad trade.
A better output would preserve the image crop, flag the uncertain digit, and ask for confirmation before including it in the total. Even “amount unreadable” is useful if it prevents a confident accounting error.
How would you want this handled: a review queue for uncertain fields, or a confirmation step immediately after each document?
