An Urgent Message on Artificial Intelligence from the Kogui People

The Kogui people, from Gonawindua in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Colombia, express concern about artificial intelligence. They believe AI cannot be separated from the thought that creates it. If AI originates from care for life, it can protect life; if from ambition or domination, it will amplify those traits. They describe Aluna as living thought, the cosmic water where things exist before taking form, receiving purpose and obligation.
