Claude Haiku 5.5, released on October 7th, 2026, now matches GPT-6 Luna's pricing at $0.10/$0.50 for up to 100,000 tokens. Beyond this, Haiku's price increases fivefold to $0.50/$2.50. In contrast, Luna's price only rises to $0.20/$0.75 after 272,000 tokens. This new credit scheme aims to compete with OpenAI's Codex subscription, which offers a better deal for heavy API users.
This release marks the first time Anthropic's Haiku model matches the pricing of GPT-6 Luna at lower token counts, unlike previous versions.
