OpenAI launches Dots, its bubbly agentic avatar

OpenAI has launched Dots, a new personal agentic assistant powered by GPT-6 Astra, announced at their DevDay event. Described as "remarkably capable, always-on agents built to handle everything," OpenAI also plans for "specialist Dots" with specific responsibilities. These individual Dots can be provisioned with identities, credentials, and tools, and OpenAI is collaborating with Microsoft to integrate them into Agent 365 security controls.
